Great piece! Love to see Lib get some much deserved appreciation for his music, of course, but also for his work in bridging generational divided that sometimes hamstrings the culture.

This is rabbithole music that adds 20 songs to my library that I forget where the original thread pull began. Embedding history lessons into music may be hip-hop’s greatest gift.

I learned about so much amazing music through Madlib, his production, DJ mixes and beat tapes. Not just jazz, but also Brazilian music, African music, even Scandinavian and German music (and I'm German). He's simply the ultimate beatdigger, his taste in curation is impeccable.

He's one of the best. Definitely someone that bridged a lot of folks from hip hop into the jazz world. Blunted in a Bomb Shelter is my favorite. I was real sad when I learned that he was impacted by the fires.
